About Me

Hello and welcome to my virtual portfolio. I'm Paul, a junior biology major at the College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State). My educational and experience background runs from the biological and social sciences through media, teaching and finance. I’ve always considered college as a place to learn a little about anything and everything that sparks my interest. Sort of like an all you can eat buffet of knowledge. My future plans include medical school, a surgical residency and practicing medicine.

Letter of Intent

To Whom It May Concern:

The purpose of this letter and blog is to introduce myself to perspective employers or internship coordinators. Included is also a link to my resume and links to some of my current and former experiences throughout multiple fields. Specifically, I am interested in an internship in the fields of medicine, surgery or the biological sciences.

I have always been great working with my hands and have had a sincere interest in biology and medicine since my youth. My mother is a nurse and has continually fostered my interest in healthcare and medicine through her stories and love of her job. Furthermore, the field is booming and it will never be hard to find a good healthcare job if one has the right degrees and qualifications.

After college, I plan to attend an accredited and licensed medical school in Poland, such as the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. The classes in these schools are taught in English and after graduation, I would only have to take the medical boards to gain a residency and job in the US. At a third of the price of US medical schools and a World Health Organization recognition, it just seems like the best choice for me.
.
My ideal internship would be as a surgical scrub technician. A scrub tech’s job is to prep a patient before and after surgery. Surgical technicians work hand in hand with doctors, nurses and lab personnel to make a difference in people‘s lives. Such an experience would give me vast knowledge of the specific field to which I want to devote my life and career.

Sincerely,
Pawel Talaga
